Danielle loves experimenting in different media, but her true love is illustration. In high school, her art teacher was always exasperated with her tendency to make "cute" art and cartoons. However her style, with a love of color and exaggerated expression, lends itself to the world of children's literature, and she has illustrated two books. Danielle believes that illustration and cartoons have the ability to affect adults as well as kids, saying “‘Cute’ art is disarming and easily accessible, and this often allows it to carry more subversive messages that might not be seen otherwise.''
